Objectives and Roadmap

Plan strategy with organization objectives, project OKRs, milestones, and initiatives.

Two Layers of Objectives

Floumy supports objectives at two levels:

  • Org OKRs for company-wide or department-wide goals
  • Project OKRs for goals inside a specific project

Project objectives can be linked back to an org objective so the team can see how project work supports broader strategy.

Project OKRs

The Objectives screen is the main planning view for project OKRs.

Timeline filters

You can filter objectives by:

  • Past
  • This Quarter
  • Next Quarter
  • Later

Summary metrics

The page shows live stats for the selected timeline:

  • Total objectives
  • Total key results
  • Average progress

Creating an objective

When you create a new project OKR, you can set:

  • Objective title
  • Timeline
  • Assigned owner
  • Parent org objective
  • Key results

Key results can be added manually or generated with AI from the objective text.

Objective statuses

Project objectives support the following statuses:

Status
On Track
Off Track
At Risk
Ahead of Schedule
Completed
Stalled
Deferred
Cancelled
Under Review
Needs Attention

Objective detail

The objective detail page lets you:

  • Edit the title, owner, status, timeline, and parent org objective
  • Add key results
  • Generate key results with AI
  • Comment on the objective
  • Delete the objective

Organization Objectives

Org objectives use a similar structure:

  • Objective title
  • Timeline
  • Assigned owner
  • Key results

Use org objectives when you want multiple projects to align with the same higher-level goal.

Roadmap

The Roadmap page turns goals into planned delivery.

It has two main building blocks:

  • Milestones for target dates and grouped themes
  • Initiatives for the actual chunks of roadmap work

Timeline filters

Like the Objectives page, the Roadmap supports:

  • Past
  • This Quarter
  • Next Quarter
  • Later

Milestones

Each milestone includes:

  • Title
  • Description
  • Due date

When you edit an existing milestone, you can also manage the initiatives attached to it.

Initiatives

An initiative can include:

  • Title
  • Description
  • Priority: Low, Medium, or High
  • Status: Planned, Ready to Start, In Progress, Completed, or Closed
  • Assigned member
  • Linked key result
  • Linked milestone
  • Linked request
  • File attachments

Initiatives are the bridge between planning and delivery:

  • Link them to key results when they directly move an objective forward.
  • Link them to requests when they exist because of customer demand.
  • Break them into work items when the team is ready to execute.

Roadmap backlog

Initiatives that are not yet assigned to a milestone stay in the roadmap backlog. The roadmap UI is designed to manage milestone assignment and initiative state from this board-style workflow.

AI support

When creating or editing an initiative, Floumy can generate a draft description from the project context and title.
